Carriers Way (Blanchland)

Distance: 7.34 Miles
Time: 2 hours 50 minutes

I went for a walk with my parents again today up to near Blanchland and walked along the carriers way. Think it was named after the route they used to carry coffins to Shotley Bridge or something like that.

A lot of the walk was over barren moorland as you can see in the pictures below. It was a relatively easy walk with the only hard bit at the very beginning up a long steep hill. At the end there were some very nice houses, I could happily live in.

I didn't really take many pictures today, not a lot to take them of. Just after the last photo below though I did see an adder, its the first time I have ever seen a live one in the wild. I must of walked straight over it. My mother made some noise behind me and turned around to see it slither across the path and into the heather. I didn't think to take a picture until it had disappeared :-(
