The French Connection

The French Connection: I am sad to say I was dissapointed in this movie. It has been given good rating and think it won an oscar but some how I didn't connect with this movie. I normally love Gene Hackman films and he did give an excellent performance.

It just seamed to be a slow burner but even when the action did start with the Hackman chasing the train, I was kinda bored by then.

I think maybe I had such high expectations that it just didn't reach, maybe better if I didn't know anything about the movie. Its still not a bad movie but prefer Dirty Harry from the same era.

I only gave it 6 but doesn't feel right giving it such a low mark?
