Skype Cordless Phone

This is the future, the phone above lets you call using Skype or using your normal phone line. So if the person your calling uses Skype it wont cost you a penny and will be crystal clear clarity. If they don't just use the phone like a regular phone. The docking station needs to be somewhere near your PC running Skype but with the phone being wireless you can use it anywhere in the house. For more info on the phone go here or buy it at Dabs.

It is £79.99 but if you use the phone much you would save this very quickly and it is cordless.

My mission it to get as many people as possible to at least try Skype, they have nothing to lose as its free.Posted by Hello

Work

What a day at work, I expected it to be a little bit hectic. Due to the power being off yesterday and needing to reboot some servers but when I arrived at work nothing would work. Realised we had a faulty switch, so replaced this with a temporary one but this wouldn't work correctly as it wasn't fast enough. Ended up dismantling half the server room following cables around. After 4 hours I eventually got everything up and running totally as normal.

Then had loads of other problems after this, a day I would like to forget. Hope tomorrow is a bit easier :-)

I could go into detail but would bore me let alone anyone sad enough to read it.

Chilled Weekend

Had a fairly good weekend, went to Crackerjax yesterday with Kelly and Lewis (her son). Crackerjax is a soft play area kids can run around in. Enjoyed it as I got to meet Lewis for the 1st time and got to see Kelly. It was a bit strange meeting Lewis, wasn't sure how to react. He is a little chatterbox, but hard to understand coz he talks very fast and quiet. So couldn't understand what he was saying a lot of the time. After we'd been there a while he wanted me to go home and him and his mammy to go to the park. Think he was just tired (I hope). We went for a ride up Weardale afterwards and Lewis fell asleep.

Techie Information Alert:
I spent a couple of hours Saturday night upgrading the software on my server that runs my website. I had been having a few problems with memory, basically some parts of my website were using massive amounts of memory and crashing the server. I upgraded the software to Reactor 1.2, which had the latest versions of Apache, MySQL, PHP, PHPmyAdmin, etc.
After the upgrade it appears to of fixed the memory problems I'd been having.
Techie Information Alert Finished!!

Otherwise not done much this weekend just listened to the football and tidied up some of my computer files and surfed the net. Chilled weekend for a change.
I'm intending to do a lot of stuff over the next few weeks, got a lot of stuff to do for my website. Some Beta testing for Jinzora 2 and quite a few things personally.

Skype

Check out Skype if you ring many people especially if the people you phone own a computer or live in another country.

What is Skype?
Its (VOIP) Voice Over IP, basically lets you ring someone using your computer, but if both you and the person your ringing has a computer and the internet it wont cost you anything to talk to each other all day and night. As a bonus its in stereo so the call is crystal clear, unlike the poor quality phone call. Skype also lets you ring a normal number for 1.1p a minute but this could be to just about any developed country in the world. (Can use a normal looking phone now as well, rather than a headset)

Sounds a bit complicated but it honestly isn't, go to the Skype website and read, well worth the few minutes it would take to read about it.

If anyone ends up trying Skype call me using the ID: stevenhorner

Cellular

Just watched Cellular, enjoyed it. Similar to Phone Booth I suppose but maybe a bit more action. Well worth watching, go rent it from LoveFilm. Posted by Hello

Try again

Tried to email a post in from work today but looks like it's not worked. Probably like last time I emailed one it appeared 3 days later or something.

I haven't posted much the last few days, been really tired.

I'm out with Kelly & Lewis tomorrow afternoon so hopefully have some fun and a talk.

The rest of the weekend I'm hoping to work on my main website, need to upgrade the software that runs it, to fix a few bugs. Also hoping to test a whole new CMS (Mambo) on another of my computers, looks much better, easier to maintain and more secure. Also need to test another mail server, as mine is too slow. (That's it for the Geeky part of this post)

Spoke to Angelika quite a few times this week and had a good laugh and chat. Still haven't found her a man yet, not for a lack of trying. Hard to sell a German to English men no matter how good looking and fun :-(

Quit Clock

Check out the Quit Clock here. Helps you workout how long before you quit your job.
Only came across this when I was searching for a picture to do with going back to work.

I Love My Job!

Found this tonight..

The Lost Dr Seuss Poem

I love my job, I love the pay!
I love it more and more each day.
I love my boss, she is the best!
I love her boss and all the rest.

I love my office and its location,
I hate to have to go on vacation.
I love my furniture, drab and gray,
And piles of paper that grow each day!

I think my job is really swell,
There's nothing else I love so well.
I love to work among my peers,
I love their leers, and jeers, and sneers.

I love my computer and its software;
I hug it often though it won't care.
I love each program and every file.
I'd love them more if they worked a while.

I'm happy to be here. I am. I am.
I'm the happiest slave of the Firm, I am.
I love this work, I love these chores.
I love the meetings with deadly bores.

I love my job - I'll say it again -
I even love those friendly men.
Those friendly men who've come today,
In clean white coats to take me away!

Back To Work...

I was back to work today (in the office), it was a bit of a dead day. Spent most of the morning catching up on emails and stuff like that.

Started to work on the PostCode database I've been wanting to do, was in the right mood to work on it and seamed to be getting on OK, but had to go to Darlington to setup a printer.

Went for a walk into Durham with David (friend from work) at dinner time, good to get out and get some fresh air. Need to do this again everyday, get off my lazy arse. Was bloody freezing though today especially when it started to hail stone... Posted by Hello

Today

As I mentioned in the last post, I've been working from home today. Spent ages looking at a database I was having problems with eventually found the problem. Not sure I would of found the problem if I'd of been at work, too may distractions.

Wish I could work at home all the time, more comfortable surroundings, wear what you want, no open plan. Could definitely get used to it. Much more productive as well.

Although I don't seam to have all that much to show for today, as a lot of it was fixing faults.

Besides for work Kelly and I have come to some decisions regarding our future. Probably going to be some hard times in the next few weeks but at least I think I can see a light at the end of the tunnel :-)

Spoke to Angelika again today she is a really nice woman. Don't know how she is single, lots of fun. Gotta get her a man, can't leave her single for long :-D

Snowing...

It's snowing outside as you may be able to make out from the webcam picture above, doesn't look much snow laid which their isn't really but picture is a bit hard to make out. Spent ages trying to get to work, even took a 15 mile detour but eventually gave up when stuck in traffic at Spennymoor. Trying to work from home but waiting for some files to be sent to me but no sign of them yet :-( Posted by Hello

Weekend

Had a really good weekend, stopped at a hotel on the outskirts of Durham on Friday night with Kelly (our valentines). We both had a perfect night.

Spent a fair bit of Saturday sleeping (just for a change). Then went to Consett with six mates on the night. We had a good laugh, although thought I was going to have to step into a fight at one point when some big lad felt a lasses bum my mate was talking to, then pushed her out the way, then pushed my mate. The lad then turned around and gestured to my mate to go outside.

2 of my other mates then followed him out except they aren't the best fighters in the world. So me and another mate waited a few minutes and they hadn't turned back up. So I walked outside expecting to find my mates laid on the floor or something but they walked back up and said the lad bottled it when they walked around the corner, probably just as well or my mates would of probably ended up flat on their backs.

Besides for that was a good night :-)

Meal

I'm going out for a meal tonight with Kelly then spending some time together, to get to know each other properly, We've got a few decisions to make.

We are both really looking forward to it, so should be a good night.

I'm also looking forward to tomorrow night when I'm off to Consett with mates for a night out, usually a good night up there :-)

Thoughts

Laid in bed writing this on my phone so may cut this short if my fingers feel like they are dropping off.

The last few weeks ive been feeling really down, not been totally sure why. Most of it has been due to work.
It had got to the point where i really didnt want to go. I mean where it crossed my mind not to turn the wheel at the next corner. Would never do that but worried me that it crossed my mind. Couldnt go on feeling like that.

I was being pushed into things at work that i just didnt want to do and didnt consider my job. I tried to mention that i wasnt happy at work a few weeks ago but obviously didnt stress the point enough as no one took any notice. Then finally last week i decided i couldnt go on feeling how i was. Almost felt like crying at times. Still dont know why, everything that has happened to me over the last few years maybe got too much. My problem is i always keep everything to myself so no one knew how i was feeling.

I eventually decided last week that i had to say something at work. i sent an email explaining how i was feeling to my unit boss as i was at another office. When i got back i spoke to her and mentioned the thing that was immediatly causing me problems. Training in a subject i didnt know well enough to train on. This was sorted for me. I also said i needed some time off to sort my head out, which is why i am off now!

Still trying to sort out in my head exactly what is causing me to be so fed up. At work i am totally bored, the work im doing a trained monkey could do. I need a job where i am constantly challenged to learn new things but i have to be interested in it or i just wont take it in. This is exactly why i enjoy messing about with computers in the 1st place, always something new and interesting to learn. But just not in my job. Another annoying thing is i never get chance to finish anything. I started some databases over a year ago and they still arent finished and never have the time or the peace and quiet to finish them.

A lot of the stuff that is happening is almost a mirror of what happened in a previous job when all the it was moved regionally and i was pushed into finance. Feels the same again being pushed into information which is really boring to me.

Not quite sure what i can do at work to sort this.

Maybe i just need another job, dont wanna leave in some ways. I have made a lot of friends and the people i work with i really like. Will see what happens...

Had other stuff on my mind as well i suppose, everyone i ever go out with always seams to be attached become something of a joke to some of my mates. Although not to me. Thought i had met the perfect person last year, said she loved me but then went back to her fiance (said they were always attached). suppose i always knew that would happen. No longer suprising how easy some people say they are in love. wont personally say it unless i truelly am. Still care for her but have moved on but would still do anything for her.

I am now seeing someone else but this is even more complicated, love her and she loves me but some big decisions need making. Hopefully most of these will be made tomorrow night when we see each other.

Sometimes just feel like leaving everything and getting away from absolutely everything. But know i have far too much to throw it away. Friends and family especially :-)

My fingers are now dropping off writing all this on my phone. Wouldnt normally write or tell anyone anything like this but hoping writing this will help me sort out what i want.

Walk turned into a drive

I was intending to go for a walk today from Frosterley to Stanhope as mentioned last night, packed my bag and put everything in the car ready for the walk. Then decided on the way that I would rather go for a drive.

I ended up driving all the way up Weardale, then turning off at Westgate going over to Rookhope and on to Allenheads. On my way to Allenheads there was still snow in the corner of some of the fields. I stoppped up on the fell by the border between Northumbria & County Durham, there's a stone Kiln there. I ate my sausage roll and drank my Lucozade there.

Drove down into Allenheads then on up the dale through Cowshill and past Killhope Wheel, I was hoping to stop here but it was closed.

Carried on up to Nenthead, Cumbria. In about 10 minutes I'd been in 3 different Counties.

Then on to Alston, the highest Market town in England. Turned around and drove home.

So didn't stop to do anything but what it did do was give me plenty of time to think. Will do another post later with what I've thought about, hopefully some decisions?

Mp3 Saga: The Final Episode?

This is hopefully the end to my MP3 Saga. Today I received my Creative Zen Micro from Amazon. It's smaller than I expected, plugged it in and it wouldn't work with Napster but it popped up and told me to upgrade the Firmware. Thought I better download it from the European site, so loaded the newest firmware up and it still wouldn't work but once again Napster said to upgrade the Firmware. So this time followed the link it provided to the US site and loaded that Firmware. This time it worked and I have successfully transfered about 150 songs to the player. All is working well. Currently transferring a few hundred more tracks from Napster :-) Posted by Hello

Plantronics Headset for Skype

Just ordered a Plantronics Headset from Dabs, so I can actually talk using Skype. Gonna look an idiot wearing it but better than holding a microphone and everyone wont be able to listen in to the conversation. Posted by Hello

Walk

Tomorrow is supposedly gonna be the last fine day of the week. So think I will go for a walk again tomorrow, fancy walking from Frosterley up to Stanhope up to the stepping stones. It's only 6 miles return, so not very far but it's all on the road.

Will see what I feel like in the morning, need to do something though, this has been my lazy day for the week so don't want anymore!!

Angelika

Angelika, we met using Skype!! Posted by Hello

Fun German :-)

I've been trying Skype out (an internet telephone program) for the last couple of weeks. A couple of people have rang me the last couple of days but haven't had the microphone plugged in as it's broke. So I couldn't chat.

But last night and tonight I got a call from someone called Angelika, I was curious who it was as I didn't know anyone by the name. Sent Angelika an instant message saying I couldn't chat coz of the dodgy microphone.

We got chatting via IM and turned out she was from Germany (Hanover) but doesn't like German men. She has been out with a few English blokes and likes the sense of humour. We ended up chatting and you would think she was English she has a wicked sense of humour, very much like mine. She wants me to set her up with a man, lol.

If you read this Angelika, I will do my best. I will get you in contact with some men, but you will have to do the rest of the work. Which shouldn't be hard as you are excellent fun.

Not much

I spent most the morning messing about with Napster To Go. I think it is an excellent idea, being able to listen to as many songs as you want without paying any extra. Anyone who uses it I imagine will fall in love with the idea. Just the thought of losing all that music if you don't keep paying your subscription.

I've had a really lazy today but that's what I wanted gave me a chance to relax and not have to do anything for anyone.

I got to see Kelly for an hour or so when I took her to work and we called in for something to eat 1st.

Burning Napster songs for free

I'd already thought about ways of getting around Napsters encryption. Here's an article on it.
Instead of using Winamp you could also use a program like Total Recorder I guess but Winamp is probably better.

Not really interested though as never use CDs anymore other than ones with MP3s on to play in the car, so guess this could be useful for that. I'd still be paying my subscription to Napster, so artists making their money. I just want to be able to listen to it in my car.

Get rid of frustrations

Just came across this, sometimes you just need to walk on bubble wrap to releave your frustrations. Check this out.

The Bourne Supremacy

Just watched The Bourne Supremacy, fancied an action film where I didn't have to think too much. It was very good, not sure if it was quite as good as the 1st film (The Bourne Identity). But would definetly recommend it. Posted by Hello

Walk

Finally got out of the house today and went for a walk from Wolsingham up to Tunstall Reservoir, around the reservoir and back down to Wolsingham. The whole walk was between 7 and 8 miles. So not too far but my feet are killing me now, 2 thirds of the walk was on the road :-(

Really enjoyed it, normally I walk everywhere very quick and don't always take all that much notice of everything around me, but decided I would have a slow walk and take stuff in for a change. Brought a lot of memories back walking from the Demesne Mill Picnic area and along Waskerley Beck, this is where I used to run cross country when I went to Wolsingham Comprehensive School or rather was supposed to run. I used to just walk most of it, hated cross country.

When I was walking up to Tunstall you could hear loads of Pheasants, in the woods. Then a bit further along I saw a Heron in the field, ended up seeing 4 of them by the end of the walk or maybe it was the same 1. There was tons of crows next to the road was like a scene from Hitchcocks "The Birds".

When I got to the reservoir I sat on the bench at the Damn wall and ate my dinner (sausage roll) and drank a cup of tea from my flask. While I was sat eating I noticed a house up on hill on the west side of the reservoir. Never really noticed how big it was before as usually blocked by trees. Think I've finally found the house I would like to buy whne I win the lottery. Eventually set off again and walked around the reservoir and back down the way I had came, except made a slight detour to walk over the stepping stones over Waskerley Beck and along the bottom of Hollywood estate, then back to the car.

Gave me plenty of time to think about stuff today, wish I didn't have to go back to work next week. Need to think of some stuff I could do as a business. I can do plenty of stuff that could make me money on the comptuer but I get bored doing the same stuff all the time. Posted by Hello

Ongoing MP3 saga

At about 1:30 in the morning last night I decided I would send my MP3 player back to amazon.co.uk, wasn't happy about it not being compatible with Napster and the final straw was when it started to play a song strangely that I knew was fine. So packed it back up and posted it back. You have 7 days (statutory rights) to send any products back whether faulty or not.

I then ordered a Creative Zen Micro which does the same stuff except is Napster To Go compatible and it doesn't display photos but to be honest the photo part isn't much use to me. It's also £30 cheaper.

Hopefully this is the end of my MP3 player saga, other than receiving a nice working Zen Micro!!

Mp3player & Napster To Go

After supposedly carefully choosing my MP3 player so I could use it with Napster To Go, I received my H10 today and found out that the UK version wont work with Napster To Go. All the reviews I had read were Amercian. Even watched a video of Bill Gates talking about the H10 and Napster. Nowhere did it mention that only the US version worked with it.

Even checked on Microsofts Website www.playforsure.com and it says it works. I have emailed both Microsoft & iRiver complaining that their websites don't mention that the US version in different from the European.

Napster To Go may end up being rubbish but I wanted to atleast try it out.

Besides for it not being compatible with N.T.G. I also had a problem upgrading the Firmware the player froze when updating but removed the battery and restarted and it worked fine. After all this I finally laid back a listened to some music and must say it is impressive, sounds very good on my Sony Earbuds, and looks good as well.

On a better note, I called in at work to pick up my LCD screens I had bought from them. They look good on my desks, certainly gave me some desk space back. Shame I have to give 1 away as it's not mine. Hopefully I will get another in a week or so...

I'm going to go for a walk tomorrow up to Wolsingham & Tunstall as mentioned yesterday.

Just checked on LoveFilm and they have sent me out Saw, so hopefully watch that tomorrow.Posted by Hello

Not much today

Haven't done much today really. I did some testing of Jinzora 2 which I will be using on my website.

Wish my iRiver H10 would hurry up and arrive, it was shipped today via Parcel Force. So I'm hoping it will arrive tomorrow (Monday).

I'm going to work 1st thing in the morning to pick up an LCD display I'm buying off them for £25. Hopefully by the time I get back and test it my H10 should be here.

Think I will go and plan where I want to go for the rest of the week. So far decided on Scarborough, The Lakes (Helvellan) and walking from Wolsingham up to Tunstall Reservoir. Posted by Hello

Stuff I found interesting or funny

Think this guy is slightly too into the song..

Wouldn't mind doing this to a few people.

Mugger Gets what he deserves

Tony Blair doesn't listen to his wife either, it's not just the British public he ignores

I would of thought GPS would of been installed in all trains to help prevent rail disasters years ago. But looks like they are only just getting around to doing it now. Reminds me of a quote from a film "Just like British Rails gets you there in the end" same with technology, they eventually get there.. See this article about GPS use by British Rail.

Clarkson DVD

Just watched "Jeremy Clarkson - Hot Metal". If you like Top Gear then you'll enjoy this DVD. He looks at how cars are generally getting slower. Wouldn't buy it but worth renting from somewhere like LoveFilm. Posted by Hello

Napster Bad Cartoon

When I was searching for stuff on Napster I came across some cartoons I originally watched years ago called "Napster Bad".

They're about when Metallica was campaigning to get the original illegal Napster shutdown.
Here's the Original and here's the rest of the series.

There's loads more cartoons available by the creators of Napster Bad at Camp Chaos.

My New MP3 player!

Just ordered an MP3 player, the Iriver H10. Spent several hours trying to decide which one to buy. Eventually decided on the H10 due to it being compatible with Napster To Go. I'm intending to try Napster out using the 14 day free trial. If it's OK I will pay the £15 monthly subscription. I think it could be an excellent way to listen to and find the latest music. If I decide I want to keep any tracks, then I'll download them from elsewhere on the net. Still think AllofMP3 is the best legal? music download service on the net. Costs less for an album than it does for a track anywhere else.

Finally!!!

Finally it's Friday and I can look forward to a week off work.

When I was out last weekend with mates they half mentioned about going to Consett but never heard anymore so presumed they weren't going. So arranged to go and see my girlfriend who I don't get to see all that much. But after arranging to see her, my mates have now contacted me about going out again. Told them what I'm doing, so will probably be calling me worse than muck now.

I had to take my last training course this morning, pleased it's finally over. Hate training at the best of times but especially in stuff I don't know very well. Luckily it went OK, only because there was people in you could have a joke with.

Only just sat down at my computer tonight, I've been over to a friends house to return their computer after I re-installed everything on it and sorted it out for them. I'm looking forward to a week of doing nothing for anyone. I always seam to be doing something for somebody else and rarely get chance to do my own stuff on the computer. Can't remember the last time I played a game?

Think I will go and listen to another edition of Adam Curry's Daily Source Code while browsing the web.

Napster and stuff

Napster this week launched "Napster to go" which uses Microsofts janus technology. Which lets you pay £15 a month and you can download as much music as you like but once you stop subscribing your music will no longer play. Only a few mp3 players support it so far. How long is it gonna be before the encryption is broken?
I can sign up for a 14 day trial and i am tempted.

I am intending to go to Scotland next week but according to the weather it is going to snow on sunday. This is about the only time i dont want it to snow, love the stuff normally!

I have had a gmail account for a few months but havent used it much. I did have 5 invites. So i set myself up another account. Now they have given me 50 invites on each account. I would guess that gmail may be coming out of beta soon or at least stopping invites soon. Let me know if anyone wants an invite.

I've typed all this up on my phone again and it probably wont work emailing in the blog but will try.

Update: it didn't come through when emailed in :-(

Thursday, February 10, 2005

Hmm..

I've tried several times to email a blog but doesn't appear to work. Knowing my luck I will suddenly end up with the emailed blog appearing 3 times.

So I will write another blog for today.

I had to deliver a training course this morning to 10 people, the room is only designed for 8. So really wasn't looking it. It went OK in the end, as well as I could of done it anyway. I find it hard to make jokes and stuff when I'm having to concentrate so hard on what I'm delivering. Due to not being comfortable with the subject I'm teaching (blind leading the blind).

This blog isn't going to have much structure to it as I'm just going to write things as they pop into my head (scatter brain).

I've been having a problem with Winamp the last couple of days, for some reason it will start then exit straight away. Not sure why as it's worked for months with no problems. Think I'm gonna have to re-install it. I've got a newer version anyway. Forgot how crap some of the other media players are with large music collections like mine. Windows Media Player & iTunes take ages to do anything :-(

While I'm on the subject of music and media players. I'm definetly totally hooked on Podcasts. Podcasts are recorded MP3 radio shows that can be downloaded and played on your MP3 player or computer and listened to whenever you want to. Read this USAToday article on them for more info.

I listen to Adam Curry's Daily Source Code all the time, he is like the godfather of Podcasting. In his show he talks about all sorts of stuff and always trys to highlight other peoples Podcasts. One of the highlights is the music trivia quiz. You hear song clips and have to guess who they are, you can listen to the quizes here.

About a month ago I signed up to some Google Alerts, you enter some keywords and whenever google comes across a new page with your keywords on, it send you an email with the page. Not had anything of much interest using "Steven Horner" but have had a few interesting alerts using the village I live in. Google Alerts are totally free so worth having a go.

I've also been looking at using Skype, I wrote a blog last night on my phone and tried to post it but didn't seam to work. In it I mentioned about Skype. It's an internet telephone program, you can talk to another Skype user for free anywhere in the world but it also allows you to call landlines in most major countries for only 1.1p a minute. Check out the Skype Website for more info as I said it's free unless you ring a landline.

I've got to finish off a computer for a friend so better get back to that or it wont be ready for tomorrow night when I'm supposed to be delivering it.

Blog from my phone

Trying out adding a blog entry from my phone using email. Currently laid in bed about to go to sleep, hopefully.

Just got into bed when skype started ringing. Skype is an internet telephone program. It lets you talk to any other skype user for free but also lets you call a normal landline very cheaply to just about anywhere in the world. It costs 1.1p a minute to just about any major country. Only problem i have is i havent plugged a microphone into the computer yet, slight drawback. thinking about buying a proper headset but not sure how much i would use it.

Some other stuff i had a quick look at tonight were friendster, a9 and flickr.

friendster is a way to meet up with old and new friends online you can do all sorts with it. Only any use if your friends use computers a lot of mine dont.

A9 is sort of a search site. It lets you search several major river from the one place such as google, imdb, amazon, etc. It keeps a record of every search you make and lets you look at your search history. It also has extra features if you install the tookbar in your browser, such as browser history and other stuff. Only thing i dont like about the idea is a company knowing who i am and exactly what ive been searching and browsing. A9 is by amazon.

Flickr is an online photo album which lets you upload your pictures and create comments, slideshows and other stuff.

The above 3 sites i havent yet tried properly just read up on them. A9 i originally looked at months ago when it was 1st launched but was put off due to the privacy issues.

My fingers are about to drop off after typing all this on my phone. So thats it for tonight!

1st Post

This is my 1st post and I am initially just testing Blogger out.

I've tried a few other solutions for a blog/diary using the journal section of my own site (www.stevenhorner.com) which is password protected, various standalone programs all of which have had problems and finally decided to try a proper blogging solution.

If all goes well I will start using blogger daily to record my thoughts, sites visited and anything else I come across that I find interesting.

I've just watched an interesting video (EPIC 2014), it's 8 minutes long but worth the time to watch.

At work today I was on an AT (Assisted Technology) course, basically it's about people who have some form of disability and how they can use a computer to do their job (Hardware/Software). Certainly opens your eyes, you don't realise just how difficult it can be to use a computer for some people.

The DVD I received in the post today from LoveFilm was Miracle. It's a true story about the U.S. Ice Hockey team from 1980, starring Kurt Russell. I had never heard of it before seeing it on LoveFilm but it had a high rating so decided to rent it. Haven't watched it yet though.

I sat and watched the England v Holland match, don't know why I bothered, as England friendlies are always rubbish. It was a 0-0 draw and hardly any shots at goal, not sure what Eriksson was thinking with his substitutions putting Downing & Johnson on out of position, not really fair on them. How can you see what they are like if you play them in the totally wrong position.

I'm taking a course tomorrow morning at work on CRAMS (Case Record And Management System) and really not looking forward to it. I took the same course on Monday and had no idea what I was on about. Luckily I'm not doing the worst part (The Afternoon). Luckily I'm off work next week, although have to sort out exactly where I am going only decided Scotland so far.

Well that's it for my 1st blog....
