Langdale Pikes

Distance: 6.33 miles
Time: 4 hours 30

I went for a walk in the Lake District at Langdale Pikes with Julie who I used to work with 10 years ago. She hasn't done much walking, so wasn't sure how she would do. I marked out a route that was probably too demanding for a first walk in the lakes. I had intended to take in 5 Wainwrights.

Walking up to Stickle Tarn took its toll on Julie and her legs were hurting by then but we carried on up to Sergeant Man, but decided not to continue up to High Raise. The weather was very bad as well, high winds and we had rain, sleet, snow and hail. So we headed over to Thunacar Knott and decided that it was best to head back. We went back down via Thorn Crag.

Julie said she enjoyed it, which I was surprised about because it was wild on the top.

I would like to go back again in the future to take in all the Wainwrights in the area to tick off my list.
